Dzogchen and Mahamudra Retreat

Silent retreat for advanced students

Course number
4.5
Instructor/teacher
Description

Dzogchen and Mahamudra are among the most exalted teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The focus of these profound and advanced practices is the very nature of the mind itself and as such they go straight to the point.

These are two paths that provide practitioners with the most skillful means to experience the fully awakened state and directly taste the nature of our mind. And yet these concepts are notoriously difficult to grasp and challenging to explain.

Tsoknyi Rinpoche will teach the key points of essence mahamudra based on a concise and yet complete pith instruction text to enable us to practice in the nature of mind. His style reveals a surprising simplicity and great practical value.

Not included in the course fees is the dana for the teacher.

In addition to the fixed fee for various expenses and the Kamalashila Institute, the participants can make a donation (dana) to the teacher sometime during the retreat. Dana is given to express one’s gratitude for receiving the dharma. The giving of dana is a personal response, and the setting of a fixed amount would clash with this. Our meetings should express generosity, the flow of giving: we all give our time and energy to come, we give our focused attention to the study and practice, we give our warmth and availability to create a harmonious atmosphere… So within that field of giving people can, as they are moved to do so, give some dana which people can put in an envelope to be offered at a certain point.

Please bring along an envelope for the dana.

The retreat can only be booked as a whole.

Registration for this course is only possible with an introduction to the nature of the mind by Drubwang Tsoknyi Rinpoche or another qualified teacher. A visit to the Dzogchen Silent Retreat – The Bliss of Non-Clinging from April 22 to 28, 2019 with Tsoknyi Rinpoche, preceding this course, also meets the registration requirements for this course.
