Opening our heart through Lojong

Course number
9.1
Instructor/teacher
Description

During this weekend, Acharya Lama Kelzang Wangdi will show us ways to open our hearts to others and ourselves with mind training (Tib. lojong).

Our mind is the source of all our happiness and suffering. Stress and suffering arise because of our self-centred attitude.
Through the practices of lojong we learn to awaken a compassionate heart and bodhicitta within ourselves, to overcome our self-centredness and to allow positive thoughts and emotions to arise, leading to a more peaceful and happier life for ourselves and others.

Tonglen meditation is also part of Lojong, where we can transform suffering by Sending out (Tib. tong) and Adoption (Tib. len).

Due to the training of our mind, we can learn to deal better with life’s challenges. By training our mind, we can transform any negative circumstances into an opportunity to develop love, compassion and understanding.

Acharya Lama Kelzang Wangdi gives an overview of Lojong and leads joint meditations.
