Description

This weekend, Lama Kelzang will lead meditations as described in his book “Open Awareness.” He will present a selection of the instructions step by step, providing a progressive introduction for those who are just getting used to the practice of meditation in this style.

Of particular interest will be the transition from mental quiescence meditation (Sanskrit shamatha) to insight meditation, which in the Mahayana tradition is called “Vipashyana” in Sanskrit. It differs in some respects from insight meditation in the style of Vipassana (Pali spelling).

Lama Kelzang will clear up these differences and help participants to put these instructions into practice.
