How to get here:

Kamalashila Institute is located in the northern part of the German state Rheinland-Pfalz, in the so-called Vordereifel, at an altitude of around 550 metres. You can get here in the following ways:

Travelling by Car

Langenfeld can easily be reached via a number of motorways and shorter stretches of secondary highways. It’s important to enter the postal code of Langenfeld–56729–in your GPS system as there are several places in Germany with the name Langenfeld. Our Langenfeld is located in the county called “Mayen-Koblenz” in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz.

If you are coming from the Bonn/Cologne area and prefer a more romantic route through the Eifel (instead of the hectic motorway), take the direction “Altenahr” at the motorway intersection called “Kreuz Meckenheim”. Stay on the B 257 until you reach Ahrbrück and then turn left there in the direction of Kesseling. Turn right there (and drive through the so-called Herschbachtal) until you reach Kaltenborn. Turn left there in the direction of Jammelshofen and continue driving until you reach the B 412. Turn left on the B 412 and shortly thereafter (approx. 1 km) turn right in the direction Arft/Langenfeld. Drive through the town of Arft until you reach the church in Langenfeld. Turn right at the church into the Kirchstraße. Kamalashila Institute is a short distance from the church on the right-hand side.

With Public Transportation

The closest train stations are “Mayen Ost” and “Ettringen”. The train connections from your home train station can be found here. The bus route no. 340 runs from Mayen to Langenfeld. But to catch the bus, you have to walk from the train station Mayen Ost into Mayen (takes around 20 minutes) to the bus stop “Wittbender Tor”. From this bus stop, you take bus no. 340 going in the direction of “Arft” and get out at “Langenfeld Kirche”. The bus schedule of the no. 340 to Langenfeld is available here.

You can also take a taxi to Langenfeld. It takes around 20 minutes from the train station Mayen Ost and costs around 30 euros if there are no traffic jams. You can take a group taxi if you come with a group, which is less expensive. (Taxi number, e.g. +49 2651 1010). It is not possible for us to pick you up at the train station.

Mit dem Flugzeug

For our guests coming from outside Germany, flying is often the only way to travel here in a reasonable amount of time. The closest airport is Cologne-Bonn, but the Frankfurt airport is also only around 90 minutes away. The train connections from both airports can be found here.
